What is a CL-100 inspection, and why is it important to have one done when buying or selling a home?
A CL-100 inspection is designed to detect if your house has any wood rot, moisture damage, or termite/pest damage.
As a buyer, you’ll want to make sure that the house you’re looking to purchase doesn’t have major water damage or an infestation of any sort. Here in the Charleston area, it’s super humid and we get a good amount of rain, so the threat of water damage is a reality. Termites are also prevalent, as well as wood-infesting beetles that damage your home, A CL-100 inspection is an inspection done to see if your house has any wood rot, moisture damage, or termite/pest damage.
The good thing is that CL-100 inspections are usually only around $150, sometimes a little more or less. But that $150 for the peace of mind is worth every penny, especially if it helps you sell your home for more or helps ensure that the home of your dreams isn’t secretly teaming with invasive insects.
